Alex holds a Ph.D. from the Human Development and Family Studies Department at Utah State University, with an emphasis in Adult Development and Aging. She earned her Bachelors in Psychology and Gerontology from the University of Montana (2014).

Alex studies the geographic distribution of resources for various populations (particularly aging populations), and the associated barriers and outcomes of access to resources in rural areas. She is interested in work related to disability, health disparities, mental health, and end-of-life. Alex's role at the IDRPP includes research, content development, evaluation, grant-writing, and identification of funding sources. She currently works on several ongoing projects, including the MHDD National Training Center, AgrAbility of Utah, Western Regional Agricultural Stress Assistance Program (WRASAP), among others.

Alex is a lifelong dual-resident of Montana and Utah, traveling between the two states frequently to enjoy their many outdoor recreation activities and to visit family & friends.
