The Institute for Disability Research, Policy & Practice thanks the 150 people who attended this year’s Disability Advocacy Day!

On February 3, the IDRPP was one of several organizations that came together for the yearly training event, attended by self-advocates with disabilities, their family members and professionals who serve disabilities.

This year’s event was all online. Break-out presentations focused on transition from the schools to the adult world, legislative basics, and the state of the 2025 Utah Legislative Session.

Participants were also invited to attend the Legislative Coalition for People with Disabilities reception that evening and put their training to use. This separate event invited Utah legislators to attend, and some Disability Advocacy Day participants went on to speak with policymakers at the Utah State Capitol in an event that attracted more than 300 people.

Other DAD collaborators included the Legislative Coalition for People with Disabilities, the Utah Developmental Disabilities Council, the Utah Statewide Independent Living Council, the Disability Law Center and the Utah Parent Center. Thanks, everyone, for a wonderful event!

DAD session recordings will be posted on the Disability Advocacy Day 25 webpage.
