Anna Witter-Merithew

Anna has spent her 52 year career as a sign language interpreter, interpreter teacher, interpreter mentor, curriculum development specialist, and program designer and administrator. She has provided a range of consultation and expert services to state agencies, court systems, schools and univerisities regarding sign language interpreting and communication access. In her own practice as an interpreter she has specialized in legal and community interpreting settings. She brings to the IMET program a passion for supporting newly entering and novice practitioners in their quest for mastery of interpreting services and supporting mentors and teachers of interpreting in conducting diagnostic assessments of interpreting performance. Anna looks forward to the many contributions new and future generations of interpreters will bring to the profession.
