Biography
I was born and raised in Davis County, Utah. I received my bachelor’s degree in social work from Weber State University, where I am now pursuing a master’s degree in social work. My interest in working with young children arose from my personal experiences within my family. I was the youngest of three and did not have experience with younger siblings until I was gifted nieces and nephews. I was inspired to become a guide and educator to assist them in navigating life's challenges. My journey has taken me to work with children in various settings, including childcare centers, private education, and nonprofit organizations, where I served as an advocate for families in need.
Today, my journey continues to expand with a newfound interest in providing mental health services to children. The Children’s Center Utah has provided me with valuable and insightful skills for effectively working with children. It has been an honor to be part of the Infant Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation team helping to collaborate with childcare programs implementing the Pyramid Model Project. The supportive environment and strong relationships at The Children's Center Utah have been essential for my growth and success. Feeling part of a family within the workplace has created a supportive setting for collaboration and expansion of my professional development. As I continue my career, I hope to become a child therapist with a focus on mental health services.
