Disability Awareness & Intervention ECHO
| The Disability Awareness and Intervention ECHO is a statewide professional development network designed to strengthen early identification and support for young children with developmental disabilities. Many Utah children with developmental delays—estimated between 75,000 and 100,000 under age 8—are not identified until elementary school. These delays in recognition mean missed opportunities for early intervention, when support is most effective. The Disability Awareness and Intervention ECHO will help close these gaps using the proven
Project ECHO® model. Through free, monthly virtual sessions, early childhood providers and
related professionals can build skills in developmental monitoring, screening, referral
pathways, service coordination, and disability-specific best practices. Sessions will cover
topics such as:
• Down syndrome
• Cerebral palsy
• Intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Hearing impairments
• Other common developmental conditions
Sessions are FREE for participants! Sessions are held every 1st Monday of the month from 12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. MST over Zoom. |
