Cassandra Shaw Named USU Employee of the Year

Cassandra Shaw
Cassandra Shaw was honored as Utah State University’s Employee of the Year during the USU Staff Employee Association (SEA) conference in May.
Shaw’s face is familiar, not just where she works with IDRPP’s Center for Employment & Inclusion (CEI) at USU-Salt Lake, but with the many partners and collaborators who have come to CEI events.
“Cass is an amazing team player!” said Mindy Dokos, a media manager at IDRPP. “She is quick to jump in and help with whatever task or problem solving is at hand, she has a wealth of knowledge that she is always willing to share, and she has a way of making coworkers feel like family. When we planned our in-person conference in the Taylorsville location, we leaned on Cass a lot. She helped us so much then, and I always look forward to the next chance I'll have to connect with her.”
“Cassandra exemplifies excellence through her exceptional productivity, creativity, and ability to manage multiple projects with consistent quality,” SEA said in a statement. “She is the cornerstone of reliability—organized, dependable, and calm under pressure. ... She consistently goes above and beyond, often volunteering for extra tasks and ensuring no detail is overlooked.”
"Cass is awesome member of the R&T Division,” said Tim Riesen, IDRPP’s Research and Training Division Director. “She consistently provides support to staff and she’s always willing to lend her time, knowledge, and expertise to help others succeed."
Congratulations, Cass!
