Biography

Ms. Hase is a Training and Development Specialist in the research and training division at the Institute for Disability Research Policy and Practice (IDRPP) at Utah State University since October 2019. Hillary graduated from the University of Utah in 2014 with an undergraduate degree in Human Behavioral Science and Education with a minor in Disability Studies. Hillary has nearly a decade of experience working in social services providing vocational related assistance to a wide range of different populations including veterans, individuals with disabilities, individuals with mental health and substance use diagnosis, individuals transitioning out of homelessness, and refugees. Prior to working at USU, Hillary worked at the Salt Lake City Homeless Shelter for the Road Home as their first Employment Specialist in a new pilot program. During her time there she also helped contribute to the development and implementation of the "Dignity of Work" program and was one of the founding members of the employment subcommittee for the Utah Coalition to End Homelessness. Hillary currently serves on the board for Utah’s JPD chapter as a general board member and is the current Vice President for Utah’s APSE chapter. Hillary has lived experience which drives her passion for equitable employment for all.  This is shown through her work, which includes the Workplace Supports Training and Technical Assistance for CRPs throughout the state of Utah, hosting monthly Community of Practices, and hosting bi-monthly webinars.
