Rep. Chris Stewart Next In "Getting To Know The Candidates" Series
Representative Chris Stewart, Republican incumbent in the race for Utah’s Second Congressional District, is next up an interview with the CPD’s policy team on Thursday, October 8, from 10 to 10:30. You can watch it from the CPD’s policy page.
The interview will focus on his stance on disability issues.
“Getting to Know the Candidates: Disability Policy,” is a series of individual interviews with candidates up for election for a variety of offices.
Questions for all candidates will cover receiving a fair and appropriate education in the time of COVID-19; ways to increase the employment of Utahns with Disabilities during the pandemic; independent and accessible voting for people with disabilities; ways to better support service providers during the COVID-19 crisis; how to encourage the expansion of mental health services in Utah; and ensuring law enforcement officers are trained to handle situations involving people in a mental health crisis.
Chris Stewart
Representative Chris Stewart was elected to Congress in 2012. He grew up farming and ranching with his 9 brothers and sisters in Cache Valley. He graduated from Utah State University in Economics and then began a career in the Air Force. After graduating number one in his class in flight training, he spent 14 years flying the B-1 bomber and rescue helicopters. He holds the world’s record for fastest non-stop flight around the world.
Chris loves to write, and has 20 published books including military thrillers and the NY Times best seller, Seven Miracles that Saved America. He and his wife Evie have 6 grown children and 13 grandchildren.
