David McCollam is currently an ESE (Execeptional Student Education) teacher in Titusville, Florida along with being a Braille Transcriber Trainer for TAESE. In 2001, he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Parks and Recreation Leadership and Therapeutic Recreation from Alderson-Broaddus University in Philippi, WV. In 2006, he graduated from West Virginia University with a Master's Degree in Multi-Category Special Education. In 2017, David graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Master's Degree in Teaching Students with Visual Impairments and Orientation and Mobility. He received his Braille Transriber Certification through the National Federation of the Blind and Library of Congress in 2020.
David is currently working with TAESE to help kick off a Braille Transcriber Project to provide support in increasing the number of certified braille transcribers.
He is married to his beautiful wife Stephanie, and is blessed with 4 children.
