The National Center on Accessible Digital Educational Materials & Instruction (NCADEMI) is a technical assistance center established on October 1, 2024, and funded by the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) at the U.S. Department of Education. Pronounced “n-cademy,” NCADEMI is dedicated to ensuring that educational technology is accessible to all students with disabilities. Its mission is to assist schools and families in enhancing the accessibility of digital educational materials and instruction from preschool through high school graduation.
NCADEMI collaborates with various stakeholders, including state and local educational agencies, early intervention programs, OSEP-funded technical assistance centers, parent information centers, and educator preparation programs. By providing resources such as webinars, policy development guides, evaluation tools, and professional learning communities, NCADEMI supports the creation, selection, and use of accessible digital educational materials and instruction.
