Nancy Strahan

Biography

Nancy Strahan has a Master of English with a focus in Disability Studies and has over 15 years of experience working with people with extensive support needs. Before her position with the IDRPP, she was the Director of a Community Parent Resource Center in Alaska that provided support and training to families and individuals navigating the special education systems. Nancy has also worked for adult programs that support people with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities providing residential and community-based services. Nancy’s personal and professional passion for disability inclusion comes from her family. As a sibling to a younger brother with Autism and an older brother with physical disabilities, she has experienced either first- or second-hand the inequalities and barriers people with disabilities encounter throughout the life course.
