CPD And COVID-19: A Round-up Of Affected Services

Utah State University and the Center for Persons with Disabilities remain open, though public gathering places are not. If you need to come to the CPD, you can walk in and check in with Dave at the front desk.

Below is a round-up of services at the Center for Persons with Disabilities and how their efforts to keep COVID-19 from spreading have affected their programs. This is a quickly evolving situation and this information may change.

Aggies Elevated

AE classes, meetings and study groups have all moved online. For more information call (435) 797-1977.

Bridgerland literacy

All meetings are suspended. Students are encouraged to work on the books they have, and when meetings resume the staff will go over the material with them. The Bridgerland Literacy office is still taking calls at (435) 750-3262.

Childcare Nutrition Program

CNP continues to assist family home childcare providers, most of whom are still operating. The program is looking into offering training online. For more information call (800) 540-2169.

Developmental Skills Laboratory

Limited day service is provided for healthy individuals who are not considered high risk from the virus. Group sizes are kept to under 10, including staff members. The precautions of social distancing, hand hygiene, monitoring temperatures, and regular disinfection are all practiced. For more information call (435) 797-8528.

Employability Clinic

Staff continues to evaluate the situation as it evolves. For more information call 797-0212.

Public and School Partnership

Most of the team is telecommuting. The March 18 training and April 10 National Day of Training events are canceled. For more information call (435) 797-0633 for AmeriCorps Vista and (435) 797-5720 for Senior & Community Volunteers.

Top Sports

Activities are suspended until the all-clear.

Utah Assistive Technology Program

UATP’s AT loans, small business loans and small grants will continue. The Logan and Uintah Basin locations will continue operating on a limited basis, by appointment only. The Salt Lake City location is not currently accepting new clients or new equipment donations. For more information, call (800) 524-5152.
