This year, the Center for Persons with Disabilities was honored as Organization of the Year at the Conexiones Familiares conference last weekend in Salt Lake City. The award was from the conference committee, which selects an outstanding organization each year.

The conference was sponsored by several organizations, including the Utah Parent Center and Family Links. The annual event is delivered entirely in Spanish.

"I think the award represents fruitful efforts of working and learning together with multicultural diverse families in the state of Utah," said the CPD's Eduardo Ortiz, who accepted the award at the event.

"It is part of an intentional and  collaborative working process to develop mutual trust, knowledge, service, and care with diverse communities."
