Technical Assistance Specialist II

The TA Specialist II is a capable facilitator, coach, and trainer of diverse representatives from state and local educational agencies, as well as other entities responsible for improving outcomes for learners with disabilities. This role requires depth and breadth in the understanding of special education and digital accessibility guidelines/laws and technical implementation of accessibility practices. The TA Specialist II will support collaborations with education and disability representatives across the country to identify challenges, provide TA services and resources, and promote best practices to create coordinated systems for providing accessible digital educational materials for students with disabilities.

Employment Specialist for Students with Disabilities

The Utah State University Institute for Disability Research, Policy & Practice EmployAbility Clinic seeks a qualified individual to join our team. The USU EmployAbility Clinic is dedicated to finding consumer-driven employment and teaching pre-employment skills to increase greater self-sufficiency and a higher quality of life for individuals with disabilities. This is an hourly position. The individual working in the position would be working one-on-one with students (aged 17-22) who have disabilities in an internship program that runs three times a year in Summer, Fall, and Spring semesters. The Summer program is expected to run 8 weeks and the Fall and Spring semesters are expected to run 10 weeks. There may be several weeks between semesters with no work.

Public & School Partnership: AmeriCorps VISTA Program Director

The Public & School Partnership’s AmeriCorps VISTA program is recruiting a new Program Director (Project Coordinator III) to oversee, plan, and coordinate all day-to-day fiscal, administrative, and operational activities of the program. We are based at the Institute for Disability Research, Policy & Practice at Utah State University in Cache County, Utah! The Project Director will oversee a team of 2-3 office staff (hourly, benefited, and AmeriCorps member), up to 15 AmeriCorps VISTA members, and at least 25 community, university, and school-based partnerships.

In addition to our AmeriCorps VISTA program, PSP will begin an additional AmeriCorps State-funded planning grant project on August 1, 2024, to expand a tutoring and mentoring program for refugee youth in the community. This project builds upon the work that Athletics United has done to create and deliver a refugee tutoring program over the past few years. The Program Director will work closely with the Executive Director of Athletics United, the Cache Refugee and Immigrant Connection, and local schools and school districts. It is anticipated that this planning grant project will be funded as an AmeriCorps State program in future years with 10-25 AmeriCorps State members who provide direct tutoring services to refugee youth.
