Katie Harris has over twenty years of experience working with children and adults with disabilities in a variety of environments. Most of her experience is with children with autism and severe disabilities. She has served as a behavior specialist, special educator, instructional coach, and special education coordinator.
Katie has also consulted internationally and with local districts to help establish programs implementing empirically validated methodologies. She has participated in many research projects and presented at numerous state and national conferences and conventions. She earned her Ph.D. at Utah State University in the Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis, a special education credential at Chapman University, and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology at the University of California at Berkeley. While studying at Utah State, she helped start the Autism Support Services: Education, Research, and Training (ASSERT) early intensive behavioral intervention program for preschoolers with autism.
